On January 20 (Tue), 2026, the MIT Club of Japan held its 2026 General Assembly as its first event of the year, welcoming 46 on-site attendees and approximately 35 participants online in a vibrant hybrid gathering.
The session included a recap of the Club’s 2025 activities and a keynote address by Professor Mark Bathe on cutting-edge research in nucleic acid nanotechnology.
His talk highlighted how DNA can be used as an informational and programmable material for nanoscale engineering, opening new possibilities in molecular design and therapeutic innovation.
The event underscored the strength of the MIT community in Japan and its continued commitment to collaboration and intellectual exploration.
SDS will continue to enhance its collaboration and support with overseas universities including MIT.
