The joint meeting of the Working Group for Entrepreneurship Education (5th meeting) and the Working Group for Case Study Development in Hub Cities (3rd meeting) of the National Entrepreneurship Fostering and Promotion Project was held.

This event was held with the aim of disseminating the policies and other measures promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to a wider range of stakeholders and promoting participation and cooperation among all parties concerned for the dissemination and enhancement of Entrepreneurship Education throughout Japan. The event was attended by people from both inside and outside the base cities who are interested in Entrepreneurship Education.

  • Director, FoundX, The University of Tokyo
    Takaaki Umada
    He is in charge of startup support and entrepreneurship education at the University of Tokyo.
    Since 2016, he has been managing Hongo Tech Garage at the University of Tokyo, and from 2019, as FoundX Director, he will be involved in startup support and entrepreneurship education. He provides information through slides and blogs for startups.
    He is the author of "Paradoxical Startup Thinking," "Successful Entrepreneurs Choose Their Place," "Implementing the Future," and "Raising the Resolution.
    In the National Entrepreneurship Promotion Project, he served as an expert member and chair of the Educational Effectiveness WG and was a lecturer for the 2024 FD program.
    He is in charge of startup support and entrepreneurship education at the University of Tokyo.

    Mr. Kurokawa is in charge of entrepreneurship education and startup creation support at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. After working in architectural design and urban planning, he has been engaged in industrial technology outreach, R&D startup support, and innovation ecosystem base formation at corporate museums, national universities, and national research institutes since 2011.
    In the National Entrepreneurship Fostering Promotion Project, he was a lecturer for the national program in 2024.

    Miwa Kobayashi
    He was in charge of corporate law related matters in the area of management at his university.
    As a lawyer, he was involved in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, etc. After working for a local government, he has been in his current position since 2021.
    As a practitioner faculty member, he is in charge of basic to practical classes related to solving and preventing problems by utilizing law and legal negotiation, as well as exercise courses to collaborate with local communities while learning about corporate management after incorporation.
    He works to connect companies, government agencies, and education on both business and welfare aspects.
    In the National Entrepreneurship Fostering Promotion Program, he served as an instructor for the 2024 national program together with Dr. Atobe of TUAT.

After becoming a simultaneous interpreter, he taught entrepreneurship education at Kyushu University and Tokyo University of Science. After serving as an associate professor at Hiroshima University, Department of Startup Promotion, Industry-Academia Collaboration Promotion Division, he has been in his current position since April 2023.
    In the National Entrepreneurship Fostering Promotion Project, he serves as an expert member of the Education Effectiveness WG.

    He serves as an expert member and chairperson of the General Supervisory Committee for the National Entrepreneurship Promotion Project.

    He has been in charge of startup/new business creation policy since August 2023.
